DTMF is a "Non-ASTRO" signaling protocol that is used by certain Conventional Systems, and therefore for certain Conventional - channels. DTMF is widely used in the telephone industry. Two tones are transmitted simultaneously at different amplitudes for each keypad key pressed. A sequential series of Dual Tones makes a data word.

The "DTMF" selection is made in the Conventional System System Type field. |

Conventional System are selected for Conventional Personalities from the Non-ASTRO System field. |

When the Non-ASTRO System field selects a DTMF Conventional System, the Non-ASTRO Signaling Type field must be set to "DTMF". |

A personality's Rx Voice/Signal Type field must be set to "Non-ASTRO" or "Mixed Mode".
